Go to the jungle with Tan Trekking. Tans nonsense gave him celebrity status on the beautiful island of Koh Chang. He will show you the secret waterfalls and stunning coastal point of view, hidden in the depths of the island jungle.
Thick, mountainous terrain, as well as heat and humidity will allow you to experience even the most experienced travelers. The untouched part of the jungle covers a huge 80 percent of the island, and with only a small number of trails it is still relatively unexplored. The highest point on the island is 744 meters, while a number of other peaks range from 500 to 700 meters. Tans Trekking routes range from half-day family trips on the outskirts of the jungle to challenging 8-hour treks heading inland.
This trip is suitable for families with children or those who want an easy acquaintance with the jungle. The hike starts from the village of Klong Prao, then heads along the edge of the jungle, where you can see plants and trees unique to the area. You will walk along the picturesque river until you reach a small lake suitable for swimming and cooling. After resting and eating fresh fruit, you go to the Klong Prao elephant camp, where you will have the opportunity to see the elephants bathing, then return to the starting point, where you can take a short break and return to the hotel.
The route of this hike lasts about 4 hours and ends at the Ban Kwan Chang elephant camp, where for an extra you can enjoy riding the elephant through the jungle.
The hike begins at Klong Son Village, where you can see various fruit plantations, and then head for the jungle, climbing to an altitude of about 400 meters, stopping at a viewing platform along the way. Reaching the summit, you will walk along the path around the mountain, and then go down to the waterfall, where you can refresh yourself and have lunch.
After lunch, you go to the Ban Kwan Chang elephant camp, which is one of the best camps on the island.
This popular route is located in the center of the island. You will start from a fruit plantation and then go deep into the jungle and climb to a height of 500 meters to the magnificent coastal observation deck overlooking the beaches of Cai Be, Klong Prao and Chai Chet. After enjoying the magnificent views of the observation platform, you will go down on the other side of the mountain, passing another magnificent viewing platform, and then go down to the river, where you will have lunch among the picturesque jungle.
After lunch, you go in 30 minutes to the secret waterfall, which, along with the observation deck, is the main event of the day. The waterfall has several levels, on the upper level there is a good size swimming pool for swimming, and if you feel brave, you can jump off the cliffs into refreshing cool water. Because of the location of the waterfalls, deep in the jungle, tourists in Koh Chang cannot be visited by tourists, unless, of course, you are not from Tan, which will show you the way!
After cooling down, you spend 2 hours trekking along a picturesque river with several crossings across the river and ends at a starting point where you can take a short break and then return to your hotel.
This route begins in the northern part of the island in the village of Klong Son, this is the most difficult path that Tan makes. It starts gently on the fruit plantations, then you head deep into the jungle and climb 650 meters to the top of Mount Jom, which is the highest peak in the north.
After lunch on the summit and admire the stunning views of the coast, you go down the mountain to the waterfall, where you take the much-needed bath to cool off. After a cool and invigorating bath, you then return 40 minutes back to the starting point.
This hike requires a good level of fitness. There is a 400-meter peak in front of Mount Jom, which you must first go up and down, this also applies to the return trip when you go down to the waterfall, so you will go up and down all day. Tan has a lot of experience, he sets the pace to ensure that everyone has a pleasant day and safely reach the top.
